My computer and why it sucks

It sucks because it is dead.
On Friday I moved back to college. When we unloaded my laptop in an attempt to set it up we descovered it was dead. Dead in a "no way in hell this is ever starting up again don't even try it or I will fill your room with toxic gas" kind of dead. I lost everything. *Everything* Including the 45 page XS fic that I had been working on. All fanarts are now gone. I still have the original inks, of course, but the versions as they appear here on DA now only exist here on DA.

So I am now borrowing my dad's old computer. I don't know how long this will last, I don't know if any of my files can be saved by the magic tech people. I don't know anything.

So yeah. Setbacks. Major setbacks...

I had that before with the same computer three times, deleting all files, deleting programs and last suicide. I use my email to store thing just incase. So I'd suggest to use it. Still I'm very sorry, I know the frustration of losing files especially long written stories.I hope it works out, still really sorry to hear that.

Hurry now to scrib on paper what you can remember that you THINK you could re-write from memory if you provide yourself enough clues!

Even if the computer is dead you may still be able to connect the hard drive to another computer and recover the files that way. I've done it before when I my computer decided to hit the bucket. Hopefully you can get your stuff back.

I know right? God I suck. I used to back up my things all the time... and then I just kind of fell out of the habit. I remember all the main points with everything so there's no real problem with re-writes. I just makes me sad.

Thanks so much for the pets. I just discovered that your computer died as well. Isn't that the way of it?

Ah thanks. I got into the habit of hand writing everything first... but for some reason I didn't for fics. So now I now and I have learned!

And poor you! Your computer was evil!

It all depends on if it still has its warenty. If it does my parents will see if it can live... but if not I think they're going to chuck it...
